Some 5 year olds like trains. Some like fire engines. This couple of Russian 5 year olds have the best taste… they like Jaguars!
A couple of Russian “Great Escapists” have made UK news recently and it might not be for the reason you are expecting. This was no prison break – the two boys, both aged 5, escaped from their nursery by digging a tunnel using a pair of plastic toy spades and their wits.
You would be forgiven for thinking they were running from the Russian Miss Trunchbull or an afternoon nap. The reason they escaped from their nursery was to get to the local Jaguar Land Rover dealership and purchase a nice new Jag. Top Notch!
They were there to buy a Jaguar
The boys carefully planned their bid for freedom and luxury motors and it took them several days to dig their hole (under the fence) using a pair of plastic toy spades that they relinquished from the sand pit. They then embarked on a 2km journey on foot to get to the dealership and make the second biggest purchase of their life.
Their plan was foiled however when a local lady spotted the unaccompanied boys and drove them to the police station. She asked the pair what they were doing and they happily told her they were there to buy a Jaguar but didn’t have the money. Me neither guys, me neither.
The escape comes just days after Jaguars director of Design, Ian Callum was inducted into the Scottish Motoring Hall of Fame for his work in the company. The only question that remains unanswered is which machine in the enigmatic Jaguar range did they have their heart set on?
