So the new Ford GT made its debut appearance this year at NAIAS in Detroit and some might say it completely stole the show. Oh, and it’s got a V6 EcoBoost engine that delivers over 590BHP… Pretty impressive stuff for a carbon concious supercar right?
Unsurprisingly, this is Ford’s most powerful EcoBoost engine to date. Many people seemed to question the supercar’s ability to perform simply due to the drop from a V8 and the introduction of the EcoBoost, but those people should be reminded that the EcoBoost has been proving its metal for some time now.
Ford have promised that the new GT is going to have one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car to date, through the utilisation of carbon fibre technology.
Not only is it extremely lightweight but the use of active aerodynamic technology adds extra spice and changes the angle of the spoiler and various panels depending on speed. The overall change in appearance has really brought the GTs forward in time as well as harbouring increased efficiency.

The new GT is a huge step forward in technology and Raj Nair, Ford group vice president said: “GT includes innovations and technologies that can be applied broadly across Ford’s future product portfolio – another proof point that Ford continues raising the performance bar while ultimately improving vehicles for all of our customers.”
Mark Fields, Fords president and CEO says “We are passionate about innovation through performance and creating vehicles that make people’s hearts pound.”
Well Mark, our hearts are pounding and we are all eagerly awaiting production. Well, most of us…
Is it just me, or does the new ford GT look a little ugly from the back? pic.twitter.com/EWWyvXGbav
