Parking tickets really can be enraging. Of course, those who park their cars illegally and without consideration should be fined. It’s a no brainer. It says “keep clear” so the business can take deliveries and continue operating or so traffic can continue to flow correctly. They didn’t put the sign up for the good of their health.
That being said there are, without question, countless numbers of motorists who have been stung by parking fines when they shouldn’t have. Generally, a parking “enforcer” will write you a ticket first and expect you to appeal it later if you think it’s been incorrectly issued.
The appeal process is also lengthy, frustrating and so off putting that most would rather pay £140 than go through the headache. Unfortunately, many do just that and they lose their hard earned cash.
Joshua Browder has had quite enough
18 year old Joshua Browder has had quite enough of that. Joshua is a tech savy student who has been left with a bitter taste after having multiple parking fines issued for “trivial” reasons.
Speaking to Mashable, Joshua said “Over the past two years, I have received around thirty parking tickets for trivial reasons… I have had to spend around one hundred hours of valuable study time writing appeals to these tickets, many of which have been successful.”
He also added “I have come to realise that councils issue tickets first and ask questions later. Unfortunately, many recipients of these tickets don’t have the time, legal knowledge or energy to appeal.”
This is why Joshua has developed an App which will allow you to almost instantly appeal your ticket without getting out the law books or speaking to the family solicitor. The app makes use of the most popular appeal letters that have successfully squashed fines in the past and automatically inserts personal details into the letter as required and sends it to the relevant body for their review.
Been issued an unfair parking ticket?
The App has already helped many people win their appeals. Speaking to Huffington Post, Joshua said: “My friend won an appeal from Camden Council in relation to stating the wrong date on a permit, and a lady, who found the site through Google, emailed me saying that she was successful in overturning a ticket after paying for the incorrect vehicle registration.”
Good for you Joshua! If you have recently been issued an unfair parking ticket, head over to www.donotpay.co.uk and see if it can help you.
