No more waiting, for all you fans of the Porsche Boxster. Over the last couple of days, the first examples of the new Boxster for 2012 rolled into showrooms across the UK and Ireland. Okay, it doesn’t look leaps and bounds different from the previous model, but like they always seem to do, it sounds like Porsche have gone and made the new Boxster that extra bit better, somehow. So what’s new for the 2012 Boxster? It’s got a lightweight body, which at 35KG less than the outgoing version, means it’s sure to handle better and ultimately be faster, going by the rules of physics. To [...]

The increasingly successful British car engineering firm Jaguar Land Rover (JLR for short) plans to connect with a large number of youngsters today at the Birmingham NEC exhibition centre, as part of the ‘The Big Bang’ science and engineering fair. Jaguar Land Rover is very keen for more young people to think about studying towards and entering into careers in engineering and design in the automotive car industry. Why so? Everyone knows by now that University tuition fees are going to rise considerably from next year, resulting in many students graduating with higher debt levels in years to come. Or maybe you now think of footballers, what with the popular rise of the Bentley Continental GT. Whichever view you adopt towards luxury Bentley cars, the one thing you and many other people would have considered unlikely to happen was that a diesel engine would feature [...]

An increasingly popular craze amongst the motoring journalist community and amongst general car fans on Twitter is that of car spotting – taking discrete photographs of rare, expensive or otherwise interesting cars. Twitter’s most well-known and much-loved car spotter is the ultra-keen Simon Ford from Glasgow, whose car spotting and general motoring banter on Twitter is as relentless as that bunny from the battery adverts on TV! Simon’s tweets reached cult status quite some time ago, especially when he posted pictures of rare, interesting cars he had spotted ‘out and about.’ Earlier [...]

Porsche have been signalling their intention to make compact SUV coupé since early 2006, but financial restructuring led to the plan being scrapped. Following the Range Rover Evoque’s success, Porsche decided that it might not have been such a bad idea after all. Rumours of the Cajun were confirmed by Prosche in March. There would be both five-door and three-door versions, with the latter in direct competition with the Range Rover’s Evoque and Audi’s Q5. Now, we’ve got our first glimpse of the car as a batch of in-house computer renderings have been leaked. It looks [...]
