The Touareg SUV from Volkswagen (VW) is nearly 10 years old now, since its introduction in late 2002. Named after the Tuareg people from North Africa, the Touareg was a joint venture from Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche and was intended to be a sporty-handling 4×4 SUV and the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne share its platform. Although perhaps not quite as successful as BMW’s X5 SUV, the Touareg has still racked up good sales across the world and continues to do so, it’s new version just having been introduced in the UK. People from all kinds of backgrounds made up the Touraeg-buyers list,  [...]

Warranty Wise received some very kind words a few days ago via Twitter from John, a new customer of ours. He said he thought our extended car warranty package felt to him like a “revelation because of such comprehensive cover, such an affordable price” and because “my ‘supercar’ was near 100k miles.” He praised our warranty claim handling as “fab too”. He then revealed on Twitter how he was “amazed how much more cover he received for less, especially regarding wear & tear (failure due to premature… – Ed) compared to the standard BMW extended warranty from  [...]

If you have been using Google to search and compare online extended car warranty quotes and prices, you may be under the impression, having read some of the small print, that even if the car warranty firm authorised your repair and agreed to pay out for the repair, they wouldn’t be able to cover the expensive main dealer network prices for technician or mechanic repairs, which can be as much as £120/hour in some cases. But with Warranty Wise you’re wrong.  With our superb range of extended car warranties, you can choose the garage labour rate of your choice: Level 1 up to £35 per  [...]

Good question, as some people do rather like Lada cars, although there are hardly any around now, as Lada (UK) stopped production in 1997 and attempts to reintroduce the Lada brand into the UK have failed as yet. But you never know! So no, unless you have imported one of the more current Lada cars from another country, where they are still actually sold, and we specially agree to cover it for you , the answer is no. On a positive note, Warranty Wise do, however, cover ALL makes and models of cars which are up to (just less than) 10 years old or have up to (just less than) 100,000 miles on the  [...]

Modern cars are awash with cutting-edge technology. Some technology is boring but essential, such as Volvo and other manufacturer’s lane departure warning systems which stop you losing concentration and drifting lanes on the road. Other technology aids convenience and comfort like radar cruise control, but doesn’t set the world alight for the effect it has on the drive. Whereas some technology is all about fun, staying in touch and enjoyed the whole driving experience that little bit more. Cassette players were replaced by single slot CD players, which they turned into 6CD (or more) multi  [...]

It’s all very well having a basic car warranty in place, thinking you’ll be covered for anything. You may have compared extended used car warranties on Google and other comparison websites and plumped for the cheapest option, which may have been from a well-known, recognised firm, so you assumed the cover would be expansive and would surely cover mechanical and electrical breakdown failure problems arising with your car. But like a large number of car owners, your car may have experienced  a major parts failure, only to find out your existing car warranty won’t cover the value of the  [...]

The Vauxhall Vectra always presented itself as good value on the second hand used car market. It was very popular with sales reps meaning that most Vectras likely spent most of their lives going up and down Britain’s motorways. So yes, many Vectras on the second hand market had high mileages, but the fact they were mostly clocked up on motorways means the brakes and other parts won’t have been subject to quite as much wear and tear as a Vectra used as a daily around-town run-about.   As part of the quarterly list we publish of all car warranty claims authorised by us on behalf of our  [...]

Warranty Wise, based in Lancashire in the north west of the UK, close to Manchester, is one of the country’s leading extended car warranty firms, fronted by Quentin Willson who used to present Top Gear and is now often seen on GMTV and other television channels, campaigning on behalf of motorists. As you would expect, we closely monitor statistics relating to car warranties, especially relating to our customers and the cars we provide cover/protection for. One fact which becomes apparent time and time again is that even common or ordinary cars (and we mean no offence by that) still cost a  [...]

The last thing any motorist could do with in the fast-approaching winter months is to be stuck in a traffic jam, perhaps for many hours, when their air conditioning, climate control or basic car heater system isn’t working. Just think, if you can’t get and keep warm in your car and you do end up getting stranded, wouldn’t it be nice to know that your car’s heater or air con is still working? Many car owners think that if their air conditioning breaks and fails to produce hot air or cold air (depending on the time of year and what the driver wants, obviously), it’ll be a cheapish  [...]
