You’ve got to doth your cap to Jaguar! They’ve done it again, with BusinessCar magazine awarding the Jaguar XF the Executive Car Of The Year award for 2012. Making this award even more special is the fact that it’s voted for by real-life business/company car drivers, not just some road testing journalists. So they really are voting for the XF based on experience. And incidentally, on the very same day they received this crown, Jaguar announced that two new models are to be added to the line-up of Jaguar XF cars. These new model specifications are called the Sport and the ‘SE Business’ version.

2012 is the year in which the latest engine in the Jaguar XF options list, the 2.2 litre diesel, will be sure to be a huge success, especially in the company car market, in these frugal times. But what will 2.2 litre diesel engine XF buyers get if they opt for the new ‘SE Business’ model? For starters, a 7-inch, hard-drive-powered touchscreen sat nav GPS system. They will also benefit from a stop-start engine system, a DAB digital radio so you can listen to JazzFM National or other DAB-only stations in the comfort of your XF, a 400W stereo system, leather and suede seats and bi-Xenon headlamps. Sounds good!

Folk who still opt for the 2.2 diesel engine Jaguar XF but who choose the Sport model, will get a more powerful engine at 190bhp, along with a sporty Bodykit package and interior trim details. A reversing camera finishes the Sport package off.

But of course, there are lots of private car buyers who are tempted by a second hand used Jaguar XF, one of the very best saloons you can buy, in the opinion of many. Used Jaguar XF prices have dropped nicely since the car went on sale in 2008. Watch out for high mileage ones around £10-12,000, but you might be better off with a lower mileage example for more peace of mind. Now that some Jaguar XF cars are nearly 4 years old, it’s time to seriously consider an extended warranty for yours. For an extended Jaguar used car warranty for your Jaguar XF, look no further than Warrantywise.
