1. Air Bag System
The illumination of the air bag warning light always seems to be caused by some electrical sensor failure hidden deep in the depths of the wiring and nearly always costs a few hundred quid to repair!
This Policy Addition covers You against the Repair Cost of any Part of the Vehicle's air bag system due to the Failure of a Part causing the activation of the air bag warning system where a Part of the air bag system is found to be no longer serviceable using diagnostic equipment and/or diagnostic techniques recommended by the Vehicle manufacturer (proof required).
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: This Policy Addition does not provide for the replacement of any Part of the air bag system where replacement is necessary due to impact, shock, accidental damage or the replacement of the air bag itself nor the air bag detonator unit or under any circumstances where deployment of the air bag has previously taken place nor does it cover for any faulty or damaged wiring. Any claim against this Policy Addition within 30 days and 1,000 miles of the Policy Start Date.

2. Air Conditioning System
Often forgotten about until spring time when you notice it doesn't work!
This Policy Addition covers You against the Repair Cost of any Part of the Vehicle's air conditioning system due to the Failure of a Part.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: This Policy Addition does not provide for the replacement of any Part of the air conditioning system where replacement is necessary due to accident damage, corrosion, leaking pipes, faulty or damaged wiring, re-gassing or pressurisation of the system. Any claim against this Policy Addition within 30 days and 1,000 miles of the Policy Start Date.

3. Alloy Wheels
This Policy Addition covers You against the cost of repairing or replacing Alloy Wheels that have suffered accidental rim damage (kerbed) including the reasonable costs of fitting and balancing of the wheel during normal everyday on the road driving, rendering the wheel un-roadworthy.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: Space saver wheels. Wheels damaged
due to off-road use, racing or rallying
or wheels which
are corroded or porous, pressure sensing valves,
damage to stud holes and
cosmetic damage. Any
claim against this Policy Addition within 30 days and
1,000 miles of
the Policy Start Date.
Claims Limit: There is a policy limit of £1,000 at the rate of £250 for each wheel (inc Vat).
Inception: On cover from day one unless added to the policy at a later date when a 30 day,
1000 miles waiting period operates.
4. Catalytic Converter
Cats are supposed to have nine lives - well not always!
This pays for the replacement of your catalytic converter due to it failing to meet the relevant in-service manufacturer's emissions standards or MOT test.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: Does not cover corrosion of the catalyst.

5. Failure due to Wear & Tear
This Policy Addition covers You against the cost of repairing or replacing parts that suffer a Failure due to Wear & Tear (unless you decide to exclude it).
Definition: Failure due to Wear and Tear is defined as: The premature Failure of a Part due to Wear and Tear resulting in a permanent loss of the Part's ability to operate. (Whether a Part has suffered a Failure due to Wear and Tear is determined by comparing the extent of wear on the failed Part with other associated or similar Parts, if no such wear is apparent then this would be deemed a Failure due to Wear and Tear.)
Excess: Nil, unless You have selected a voluntary Excess which will be shown on Your Policy Schedule.
Major Exclusions: Parts which are simply worn out and have not suffered a Failure.
Claims Limit: This Policy Addition is subject to the Single Claim Limit.

6. Incorrect Fuelling
How many times have you 'almost' put the wrong fuel in your car?
A valuable addition which covers the cost of cleaning or repairs to your vehicle's fuel system due to You inadvertently filling your vehicle's fuel tank with the wrong type of fuel.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: Does not cover the cost of re-fuelling your car. Protection is specific to the
fuel system and does not extend to the engine or to any associated drive on damage.
Claims Limit: Unlimited number of claims, each up to £500 (inc Vat).
Inception: A 30 day, 1000 miles waiting period operates.
7. Keys and Locks
You may just be absent minded or the target of a criminal mind-set, however it is an expensive and time consuming exercise replacing lost or stolen keys and damaged locks.
This Policy Addition covers You against the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing Your Vehicle's ignition and door keys or locks that have suffered a Failure, been lost or stolen or suffered criminal damage.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: Does not cover the cost of key fob batteries or central locking.
Claims Limit: Unlimited number of claims, each up to £500 (inc Vat).
Inception: A 30 day, 1000 miles waiting period operates.
8. Garage Labour Rates
Not all garages charge the same hourly labour rate, not even within the same franchised network, so make sure you have the cover you need!
This Policy Addition covers You against the charges for a Repairer's hourly Labour, in excess of the minimum £35.00 per hour, including VAT, up to the Labour rate selected by You as shown on Your Policy Schedule.
Excess: Nil, unless You have selected a voluntary Excess which will be shown on Your Policy Schedule.
Major Exclusions: Does not cover any labour charges higher than those you have selected. If you have not made any selection the labour rate of £35 per hour will apply (inc Vat).
Claims Limit: Unlimited number of claims, each up to the single claims limit selected.
Inception: On cover from day one unless added to the policy at a later date when a 30 day, 1000 miles waiting period operates.
9. Mot Failure
Worried about your vehicle failing its next MOT test?
This addition pays for parts and labour repairs due to your vehicle failing its VOSA annual MOT test.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: You need to have 3 months MOT remaining to take out this addition.
Does not cover any MOT failure claims within 90 days of the policy start date or more than
30 days before or 30 days after your MOT due date.
Claims Limit: This Policy Addition is subject to a claims
limit of £500, including VAT unless
You have paid the additional premium to remove this limit which will be noted on Your Policy Schedule.

10. Multimedia
CD Players and Sat Navs are all pretty reliable these days, but when they go wrong - they really go wrong!
This Policy Addition covers You against the Repair Costs due to the Failure of the Radio, CD, DVD player, TV, Satellite Navigation equipment provided that the items were fitted to Your Vehicle by the Vehicle manufacturer as original equipment.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: Any mobile phone or Bluetooth connection or operation of any part of the system with any mobile phone. Software faults or upgrades, aerials.
Claims Limit: This Policy Addition is subject to a claims limit of £500, including VAT unless You have paid the additional premium to remove this limit which will be noted on Your Policy Schedule.

11. Tyres
Tyres can be really expensive and don't you find punctures come along like London buses - none for a while and then two close together?
This insurance pays for the replacement cost of tyres that have incurred accidental sidewall or tread face
damage, including punctures, rendering the tyre un-roadworthy.
Excess: Nil. If You have selected a voluntary Excess it will not apply to this Policy Addition.
Major Exclusions: Does not cover the full replacement cost of tyres which are typically more than
half worn out. A part payment is made depending upon the amount of tread wear.
Claims Limit: There is a policy limit of £1,000 at the rate of £250 for each tyre (inc Vat).
