For over two years I've been working with Warrantywise and their underwriters at Lloyd's of London to make sure that this used car warranty is the best in the business. I've made sure that the claims procedures are fast and flexible so you get individual attention and a speedy payout.
How We Compare?
| All vehicle makes and models included. | Expensive, high risk vehicles excluded from cover. | ||
| One policy for all vehicles with all mechanical, all electrical, all electronic parts covered. We even include parts which often go wrong such as clutch cover, drive plate, release bearing, brake discs and brake drums. In all that’s around 5,000 parts! | Confusing variation in policies with reducing cover levels dependant on mileage. Cover for only 250 listed parts (less in most policies) but excluding parts which often go wrong such as clutch cover, drive plate, release bearing, brake discs and brake drums. | ||
| Warrantywise pay for parts replaced in pairs when only one part has failed, such as shock absorbers, springs, brake discs and drums. | No contribution towards parts replaced in pairs when one part has failed. Warranty will only pay for one part but garage will replace both. | ||
| Wear and Tear cover is included, but you can choose to omit it if not required and we will reduce your premium significantly. | Wear and Tear may be included, but usually with an excess up to 50% chargeable on all claims to reduce claim pay-outs. No reduction in premium. | ||
| Consequential damage always covered, we don't exclude this, we simply cover all parts. | Consequential damage normally excluded for faults caused by parts not on their list. | ||
| Policy claim limit set to value of vehicle at time of booking, vehicle value will depreciate, our policy claim limit will remain at the higher value. | Policy claim limit equal to value of vehicle at time of claim, vehicle will depreciate and so will value of cover available to pay any claim. | ||
| No charge for betterment should you require a new engine or gearbox. | Customer charged an excess of up to 50% if an expensive part improves condition of vehicle. | ||
| No forced policy excess, we allow you a voluntary excess and reduce your premium. | Policies carry a forced excess of £50 for each and every claim made. No reduction in premium. | ||
| Repairs at any Vat registered garage of your choice including local garage or main dealer. | Repairs at network garage, customer pays the difference if labour rate is above network rate. | ||
| No mileage limits, so you won’t drive out of cover within policy term. | Mileage limits often as low as 5,000 miles pa, that’s only 14 miles per day, any more and cover ends. | ||
| Recovery (including caravans), Car Hire, Hotel and Travel expenses included throughout EEC. | Recovery, Car Hire, Hotel and Travel expenses included but usually only within UK. | ||
| Unlimited cover while driving in Europe. | European cover usually limited to 60 days. | ||
| Emergency claims procedure when Warrantywise claims office is closed or out of contact. | No emergency procedure, customers must log all claims during office hours. | ||
| Wide range of optional policy additions available such as: alloy wheels, incorrect fuelling, lost keys, damaged locks, punctures and slashed tyres. | Additions available often include many main parts of vehicle previously excluded from main list, such as engine parts and fuel injection parts. | ||
| Comprehensive claim review and complaints procedure, right through to Quentin Willson, our Underwriters and to Lloyd’s of London. All contact details provided in policy. | No claim review procedure. The only complaint contact details usually provided are back to Warranty Company making it difficult to get a review or escalate a complaint. | ||
