What is an extended or used car warranty?
What is the benefit of our extended car warranty?
Our warranties are discretionary.
We exercise our discretion to decide whether and how to resolve repair requests.
We have appointed an independent adjudicator to ensure that any disputes are resolved in a fair and un-biased manner.
Our warranties may provide different benefits for vehicles of different ages and mileage. It’s really important to review the terms of your warranty to understand what may be paid for your vehicle.
You can find more information on the ‘what may my plan include’ page.
Do I need an extended car warranty?
If your car is over 3 years old, your manufacturer’s warranty has most likely expired, leaving you vulnerable to expensive repair costs.
Think of an extended or used car warranty as a safety net for your wheels, which may pay for unexpected repairs beyond the original manufacturer’s warranty.
Extended car warranties may pay for a wide range of costs, including the cost of unexpected repairs and mechanical failures. It gives you peace of mind, knowing that you may not face expensive repair bills.
Can I choose my own garage?
Yes. You can use any VAT registered garage of your choice, however, we always recommend using one of our Approved Repairers. These repair facilities undergo careful monitoring to guarantee the best workmanship and service quality.
What are plan additions?
Plan additions are designed to enhance our service and give you more choice when personalising your warranty. You can add or remove these additions during the quote process to tailor your warranty to your needs and budget.
What is the duration of the vehicle warranty?
Our warranties are available in lengths to suit your needs. From monthly to 12, 24 or 36 month warranties.
Discretionary Warranty
Discretionary warranties rely on the supplier’s discretion to decide whether and how to resolve repair requests or problems. They offer more flexibility in decisions. Repairs can be authorised by us, including costly ones, in fast turnaround times.
With the addition of the appointment of an independent adjudicator Warrantywise ensures consumer protection, fair and unbiased resolution of any disputes.
Different types of warranties.
Insured Warranty
Insured warranty schemes involve agreements with insurance companies and underwriters. They indemnify policy holders against losses caused by covered parts in specific circumstances.
Repair decisions require underwriter authorisation, and coverage operates in clear-cut terms without grey areas.

Who is the independent final adjudicator for Warrantywise?
Master mechanic, Edd China, is the independent final adjudicator for Warrantywise. Edd will be responsible for supporting Warrantywise and our customers by providing input to the contents of our extended warranty plans to ensure they remain the UK’s best. Edd will also adjudicate any issues that arise between Warrantywise and its customers and exercise his discretion to ensure you receive a totally fair service.
As a master mechanic, Edd is perfectly placed not only to be able to advise on how to ensure its warranty plans are in keeping with industry trends and provide competitive advantages, but also ensure they meet the highest level of service possible. He will also exercise his discretion and hold the final say, above Warrantywise, over any repairs and can overturn any decision he doesn’t deem fair or reasonable on any customer’s behalf.
