Mr Owen purchased his BMW X5 from a car dealer in summer 2016...

The car came with a three month warranty, but Mr Owen decided to extended, he stated, ” As I had invested so much money in my BMW I thought it would be wise to extend the warranty to 12 months and after some research and recommendations I went with Warrantywise.”

During a routine check in March 2017, a fault was diagnosed with the engine oil. Mr Owen said, “The engine oil had been changed and despite the amount of oil being carefully measured the on board computer stated that the oil level was too high. Further diagnostics revealed that the oil gauge sensor was malfunctioning. The actual replacement part was not overly expensive but it was a labour intensive job to access the sump of the engine. The quote for competing the work was overly expensive and came as a bit of a shock. I came home and immediately checked my warranty policy, contacted the garage with the details of this policy and they in turn emailed Warrantywise.”
