What does 'betterment' mean?.
Learn all about why Warrantywise exclude betterment from our plans in this short video from Edd. Betterment is when a warranty plan includes the cost of the repairs but asks the owner to pay towards the new part because it adds value or improves the car.
“Betterment in simple terms is when a damaged part of a vehicle gets replaced with a newer or better one making the car better than it was before.”
“It’s when a plan includes the cost of the repairs but asks the owner to pay towards the new part because it adds value or improves the car.”
“This helps account for the fact that the vehicle ends up in a better condition than it was originally.”
“With a Warrantywise plan if your car has returned to you better than it was before you don’t get charged extra for that benefit.”

We always recommend using one of our Approved Repairers. These repair facilities undergo careful monitoring to guarantee the best workmanship and service quality. However, we understand that you may have a preferred garage in mind. If that’s the case, please ensure they are VAT registered and follow our provided ‘Repairs Procedure’ outlined in your warranty plan booklet. It’s also crucial to verify that their labour rate aligns with your warranty schedule.

The plan cannot be transferred from your current car to another vehicle, however you may be able to cancel it and put any remaining balance towards a new Warrantywise plan for your own or a family member’s vehicle.
