Why wasn’t my repair authorised?
A repair request may not be authorised if the diagnosed issue, affected component or circumstances do not meet the terms of your plan. The questions below explain some of the factors that can affect a repair decision.
If servicing is overdue, cannot be evidenced or was not completed correctly, this may affect the outcome – particularly where a lack of maintenance may have contributed to the problem.
Exclusions explain the components, failures, circumstances and costs that a plan does not include.
If the garage’s diagnosis shows that a repair falls within an exclusion, or the vehicle has not been used or maintained as per the plan, we may not authorise the repair request.
Wear and tear refers to the gradual deterioration of vehicle parts through normal use.
Worn-out parts that have reached the end of their expected life due to age and mileage are not included in Warrantywise plans, and the garage’s diagnostic information will help us to assess these parts.
Yes – continuing to drive after a problem develops can make the damage worse.
Stop driving as soon as it is safe and contact us for guidance. If continued driving increases the damage, we may limit our consideration to the reasonable repair cost that would have applied if the vehicle had been stopped sooner.
We’re unable to consider a breakdown or premature failure that occurred, was likely to have occurred, or was already developing before your warranty started. The same applies to an addition to your warranty if the issue occurred or was developing before that addition started.
You can contact us if you are unhappy with a repair decision.
If you have supporting information that was not available when the decision was made, you can send it to us for review.
We must receive your request and any supporting information within 14 days of the repair request being declined.
